Here is my other favorite image. I took this at Brooks Falls in Alaska. If you have ever seen a photo where the salmon jumps into the bears mouth, this is where that photo was taken. It happens once a year when the salmon run. Brooks falls is in the middle of nowhere. We had to take two flights to get there from Anchorage. The second flight was a float plane. At camp there isn't any TV, cell reception, or telephones. They do have a satellite phone for emergencies. There were grizzly bears everywhere, walking through camp, walking down the paths and roads. While we were walking to the falls one day my wife and rounded a corner and there was a mom and two cubs heading our way. We backed off the road along a fork and got our of their way. One evening on our way back to camp we couldn't cross the river because there was a mom and four cubs fishing by the bridge. at the falls we saw the male grizzly bears. At one point we counted 22 grizzlies. They were huge 1000 pound bears eating 90 pounds of salmon a day. Their paws were as big as your head. It was truly amazing. We are going back next year and can't wait.
