Wood Ducks

I love bird photography. I have been trying to get a good photo of a wood duck for years. I have always found wood ducks to be shy and if I get close they always fly away. The first two photos were taken at the Palma Sola Botanical Park in Bradenton Florida near my parent's house. I've come to the conclusion I would need to camp out in a camouflage blind to get a good photo here.

Last week I shot the following images at the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park in New Mexico. I was behind a blind so the ducks didn't seem too concerned. I shot these at 550mm. This was the first time I have ever seen wood ducks at this park. I was able to shoot from a bird blind.

The following day I shot this at 40mm at the Albuquerque BioPark Botanic Garden. I think these are wild ducks but they are used to being fed by the tourist so they were not shy.
